What Alarm Monitoring Actually Does

An alarm that goes off and stops is just noise. Alarm monitoring turns your alarm system into a 24-hour watch. When your alarm triggers, a monitoring centre gets the signal straight away and takes action based on instructions you set up in advance.

That action might be calling your phone. It might be contacting your nominated emergency contacts. Or, if the situation calls for it, dispatching police or a security patrol.

How the Monitoring Setup Works

We install a SafeDial unit at your property. This connects your alarm to the monitoring centre over a secure signal. Once installed, we email you a data entry form to fill in.

That form covers your contact details, your emergency contacts, and the voice codes used to verify your identity when the centre calls. You also choose your response code.

The default response code is 1. This means: call the premises first, then work through your emergency contacts, then escalate to police if a confirmed break-in is detected.

Daily Reports and Proactive Fault Checks

As your installer, we get a daily report from the monitoring centre. If something flags, like a low battery, a bypassed zone, or a power issue, we catch it before it becomes a problem.

Most break-ins happen during the day, when houses are empty. A monitored alarm changes the equation. If someone triggers your sensor while you’re at work, the monitoring centre responds.

You also get access to the Pocket Secure app, which lets you arm and disarm your system from your phone.
