Monitoring
A key can be copied. A swipe card can be deactivated in seconds. Knowing exactly who entered a restricted area and when is the kind of control that a traditional lock and key simply can’t give you.
Access Alarms installs commercial access control systems for Brisbane businesses. We design systems that match how your building operates, from a single controlled entry point to a multi-door system with different access rules for different staff and areas.
How Commercial Access Control Works
Access control replaces physical keys with electronic credentials. Staff carry a card, fob or use a PIN. The reader at the door checks their credential against a list of authorised users and opens the door if they’re allowed in.
We install systems using:
- Proximity card readers (tap to enter)
- Key fob readers for hands-free access
- PIN pads for areas that need a code
- Dual-factor readers combining card and PIN for high-security zones
- Smartphone-based access for companies moving away from physical cards
Time-Based Access Rules
Not every staff member needs access to every area at every hour. A cleaner might have access to common areas from 5pm to 7pm only. A manager might have 24-hour access to the server room while IT staff access it during business hours only.
Time-based rules are set in the access control software and enforced automatically. When someone leaves, their credential is deactivated in the system, no chasing keys, no lock changes.
Audit Trails and Reporting
Every access event is logged. You can see who entered any door, at any time, and run reports for compliance, security investigations or HR matters. If something goes missing from a restricted area, the audit trail tells you who had access.
Visitor Management
Controlled visitor access keeps your building secure without slowing down legitimate visitors. Temporary credentials can be issued for contractors, clients or delivery personnel and expired when no longer needed.
For buildings with reception areas, access control integrates well with commercial intercom systems so visitors can be screened before entry is granted.
Why Access Alarms
We work with access control systems from Inner Range, ICT, Hills and Salto. These are systems used by businesses, government buildings and commercial properties across Australia.
Our installations include full configuration, staff training and documentation. We also handle ongoing support, credential management assistance and system servicing when needed.
Access control works well alongside alarm systems and CCTV as part of a complete security setup. Talk to us about your building or call 1300 049 969.
